Trasmutazioni

 Il lavoro sui “femminielli “, vuole suggerire, un   punto di vista che riesca a mettere in luce la loro vita interiore, la loro esistenza più intima così da approfondirne la conoscenza.

Non è puntando lo sguardo sui particolari fisiognomici che si possa riuscire a cogliere l’essenza intima della loro esistenza. È solo attraverso il carattere e a un sentire comune che può nascere l’idea di una psicologia che può esistere e portata all’esterno.  

È stato un lavoro lungo e di attese.

Era necessario, perché i loro sguardi potessero parlare, che le persone da me ritratte acquistassero fiducia, non si sentissero giudicate. Ho avvertito da subito che il loro bisogno era quello di “ridisegnarsi”, di essere visti per quello che erano realmente al dilla delle nude apparenze

Malgrado quello che si possa credere, nel bacino di coloro che sperimentano nel mondo il dramma della contraddizione identitaria (che sono forse assai più di quanti non si sospetti), i “femminielli” sono i più convinti, i più determinati nei riguardi della loro scelta  e i più rispettosi del loro sentire più profondo nonostante abbiano pagato un prezzo a volte altissimo.

È questo mondo e questo sentire che ho cercato di riprodurre attraverso i miei scatti nel rispetto più assoluto della loro inconfondibile individualità

Transmutations

The work on the "femminielli" wants to suggest a point of view that manages to highlight their inner life, their more intimate existence so as to deepen their knowledge.

It is not by focusing on physiognomic details that one can grasp the intimate essence of their existence, but only through character and a common feeling.

It was a long and job. Lot of waiting time.

It was necessary for their eyes to speak; the people I portrayed had to gain trust, they had not to feel judged. I immediately felt that their need was to "redraw themselves", to be seen for what they really were beyond the naked appearances.

Despite what one might believe, among those who experience the tragedy of identity contradiction in the world (who are perhaps much more than suspected), the "femminielli" are the most convinced, the most determined with regards to their choice and the most respectful of their deeper feelings despite having paid sometimes very high price.

It is this world and this feeling that I have tried to reproduce through my shots in the most absolute respect for their unmistakable individuality.
